Parvo and Puppies

Dog Boarding    If you think your new puppy is safe from Parvo just because you’re giving the required vaccinations, you may not know that they could be in danger until the complete series is completed.

Dogs Day Inn LLC wants to make new and existing puppy owners aware of one of the most infectious diseases. Canine Parvovirus is a highly contagious viral disease and causes death and diarrhea in puppies less than 6 months of age. It appeared in the 1970’s and is one of the worst frequent puppy diseases, especially in shelters, kennels and anywhere numerous animals are together. It can be exasperated by the various kinds of worms that infect puppies. When caught early and quick aggressive therapy started as soon as signs are apparent the prognosis for puppies caught early can be quite good, but fatalities occur.

Dog Boarding
We at Dogs Day Inn LLC Cage Free Dog Boarding are always looking for ways and ideas to keep our dogs safe. This idea was listed on PetsPage.Com by the Veterinary Specialty Center of Melbourne Florida.

Its called the Yellow Dog Project. The concept is so simple that I am surprised its not used more. If your dog is one that needs its space while being walked you tie a yellow ribbon on its leash. This doesn’t mean your dog is mean, as there are many reasons a dog doesn’t want to be petted by strangers or sniffed by strange dogs.

The Why’s and How’s to Crate Train Your Dog.

Dog BoardingWe at Dogs Day Inn LLC Dog Boarding offer cage free dog boarding so why are we talking about crate training your dog?

Crate training your dog makes it easier to board a dog without a crate as it is used to being in enclosed areas, and learns to ask to go outside to do its business.

Starting with when you bring your puppy home, or rescued dog, it will have bad habits as they are an animal and our homes make great places to urinate and deposit waste, and give ample opportunities to chew on furniture worth thousands of dollars.

Heartworms and Dogs

Dog BoardingHeartworms are every dog owners or should be concern. Heartworms can be contracted without you ever knowing it. It is typically spread through mosquito bites to your dog that have bitten an infected animal. Even if you could keep your dog inside all the time which is not healthy for your dog mosquitos can get into your home as you come and go through to outside. It takes about 6 months for the heartworms to mature to adult worms. In the past the treatments were almost as bad as the worms and especially if the dog had an advanced case of heartworms. The best treatment is a continuous preventative program. We will not recommend a program but please see your vet and have your dog put on a preventative regiment.
